Photo study

First time achieving this level of finish, photo study or not 😁 As WoT says, still, it is a beginning.

History and principles of animation

Walk cycle was all Photoshop and jump cycle all traditional (mechanical pencil with blue col-erase lead + 0.5 Micron on animation paper with light box), but Photoshop was used as if I was drawing on paper. Put together in AfterEffects.

When I get unlazy I will maybe finish and post her redesigns, sigh. I wish I knew how to be less timid with acting. I need lessons.

Random odds and ends

I just realized I fucking have NO finished pieces to show. Not a single fucking one, WTF. So much fail. T___T Can't even say Maya's the reason, because even those still need final tweakings before they're show-worthy. Ugh.

Maya

Got intro'd to Maya, sort of. At least I can do environments with perfect perspective now (sort of)! And model and texture interior spaces (sort of)! A few more weeks...but so far, far away.

ACD midterm

Prompt was to design a fallen angel; be original. I think I actually like Blogger's automatic color correction for once. o_o

Final sketch/initial render

It's a wee bit exciting to actually have a story.

More homework

This using real people/celeb faces to "cast" them in the story is a really weird thing. But apparently I went too conservative and didn't include elements that would still make them ultimately my character. Subtle nuances of expression are needed, at minimum. Also need to work on mood, atmosphere.

Always.

The "it" factor, once more

What is it that piques someone's interest, that makes them curious? What makes people care about characters they know nothing about, just from one image? What is that? What makes that?

For the first time in life I'm working literally from the moment I wake to the time I drop dead in bed, 9AM to 1AM, daily. And it's still not enough, not enough, not enough.

What is that?

Digital Painting week 5

The overlay blending mode is absolute magic lololololol. The more I learn, the more I feel like a helpless newborn with no fucking idea on how to do anything.

Also I can't figure out how to make blogger stop doing this automatic color correction thing and it's a pain having to upload a url rather than the actual image, what the hell.

Digital painting week 4

Video game character sheet in monochrome. Hey Saga, haven't drawn you in a while.

Digital Painting week 3

Everything in the world is literally viscom. Everything in the world is literally viscom. Everything in the fucking world is really actually LITERALLY viscom, fucking shit.

This is a paradigm shift.

Digital painting week 1

Thanks to these amazingly comfy brushes, the need to work outside of Photoshop is getting less and less... Still in the market for either a good work computer or Cintiq, though. Anyway, since everything from this term on will be 90% digital, hopefully I'll be more motivated to put homework up. -_-;
