I didn't buy this book with the intention of deconstructing and psychoanalyzing everything I've ever liked down to the last bit and smithereens. I didn't sign up to be cured of whatever 'disease' that caused me to unduly fawn over some archetype of fictitious characters. It felt like a downright loss of hold and attraction for tangible reality as I kicked bottom in this pool of obsession. I didn't ask for any of this.
That said, Gemini (though I wish it had kept the original much-more-meaningful and much-less-misleading French title of The Meteors) was the farthest thing from a bad book. If one were to read it with zero expectation or assumption, it is undoubtedly the most fulfilling and thought-provoking ingenious piece of literature I have come across in a long while. Unfortunately, I walked in with the intention of seeking fanfiction-esque solace, suffering my worst case yet of being misled by back-cover summaries. As a result of which...
I buoyed in empty limbo for the past ten days, unable to accept the apparent phenomenon that my predominant emotion for them had somehow changed to...nostalgia.
Thank god that 1.Weibo exists and 2. Brave Soldiers timed it just right to release new trailers because MEIN GOTT HOW DID I EVER FORGET
JUST EXACTLY WHAT IT TAKES TO GET MY BLOOD BOILING
LIKE THIS
LIKE THEY DO.
Thank you 老白 for comparing their shots. Thank you for making the joke that Kanon clearly casted for both roles because Saga lazied out and only stuck to playing BB's scenes.
Thank you, Love. Now let us burn for x more years to come.
Also happy birthday Aldrius.
