Aaah it's been a while since I'd been tickled like this by a simple video. Since the first time I saw Ranunculus's subbed lyrics? Coupled with the knowledge now that I can paint this! I can study the shit outta this! *__*
How do some people get to be this fucking artsy and this fucking inspirational? OTZ
...Been a while since I've been this excited over a Chinese pop song o_o But this one pokes at a specific tender point at the moment, huh.
Is it the experience of loneliness that teaches one to grow up
Is it the experience of separation that elucidates longing
We say friendship withstands distance across the world
But at this moment I just want to be with you, ah
If the world is complicated, pretentious, noisy
I'd exhaust my whole being running towards you, ah
Even if it is so far away and beyond, ah
I will for sure be there, ah
If you resort to sputtering stupid, drunken, lies
I'd exhaust my entire being running towards you, ah
Even if it is far away and beyond, ah
I will for sure make it there, ah
You still have me, ah, ooh
You have me, ah, ooh
(repeat)
If all that remains of you are old wounds, struggles, armor
I'd exhaust my entire being running towards you, ah
No matter how insignificant one may be, ah
Nobody deserves lonely isolation, ah
You still have me, ah, ooh
You still have me, ah, ooh
You have me, ah, ooh
You have me, ah, ooh
EDIT: Oh, turns out they updated the CC in the youtube vid and their translation is...overall better. Very smartly taking the spirit of the original Chinese and creating their own sentence structure as opposed to (me trying to, at least) preserve the original...Chinese flavor and format? Very interesting. Shows how much I still have to go in translation skills...
They say the beast that is Dir en grey no longer allowed room for him to write about personal feelings. Even if love/pain is mentioned, they are abstracted, broad-stroked worldviews. sukekiyo, on the other hand, is very simply the place for the small and personal, the you and the I.
What about...?
Even if there is already a triple outlet where all manners of the small and personal and everyday is shared (at what sense of fulfilment! this universe)... Occasionally, there is...that pang. The itch, or urge, to leave something more behind.
I wish they'd given the full version more time to develop (a la Kukoku no kyoon) and that the album had more like it :( But the impact, even as is, is... :o
